Sign-On

All international non-governmental and non-profit organisations are welcome and invited to subscribe to the INGO Accountability Charter. While any NGO (including national or local NGOs) may chose to adopt part of, or the whole Charter, only international NGOs (and their national affiliates or chapters, branches and members) meeting the following four criteria will be eligible to become a formal signatory and use the Charter's logo:

  • Organisations which will embrace, comply with and promote the Charter in its entirety.
  • Organisations with the mission and mandate that require the organisation to work internationally with people, issues and institutions in countries and communities beyond the country of registration, origin or location.
  • Organisations with affiliates (sharing names, brands, mission), presence or programmes in 5 or more countries (indicative minimum).
  • Organisations which have been in existence with due diligence (valid legal registration, published Annual Reports and annual externally audited account) for at least three years.

All organisations meeting the requirements are invited to adopt the Charter by filling-out and scanning the Sign-On form and emailing the signed form to diana.eltahawy@civicus.org. Alternatively, interested organisations may fill out the Sign-On form and send it to Diana Eltahawy, CIVICUS, PO Box 933, Southdale, 2135, South Africa.
